Imports of methionine dropped sharply in July, while exports of lysine were high
According to customs statistics, in July 2020, my country’s exports of lysine and lysine salts and esters amounted to 56,700 tons, a year-on-year increase of 31.5% and a month-on-month decrease of 4827.4 tons, a decrease of 7.84%. In July, the average export price of lysine in my country was US$948.27/ton, a slight decrease from the previous month. In the past two years, domestic lysine expansion capacity has been released, and the price of lysine has been operating at a low level. From January to July 2020, my country's lysine exports to some countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas remain high. The top five countries are the Netherlands, the United States, Germany, Thailand and the Russian Federation, accounting for about 36.9% of my country’s total exports. . From January to July 2020, my country exported 469,700 tons of lysine salts and esters, a year-on-year increase of 42.77%. Among them, exports to the Netherlands were the highest with 54,200 tons, followed by the United States with 2.95 tons, a significant year-on-year increase, and exports to Germany were 29,300 tons, an increase of 57.2%.
According to customs statistics, in July 2020, my country imported 11,600 tons of solid methionine products, a month-on-month decrease of 4749 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9614.17 tons, a decrease of 45.35%. In July 2020, my country imported 1,810 tons from Malaysian factories, an increase of 815 tons month-on-month and a decrease of 4,813 tons year-on-year. In July, my country’s imports from Singapore dropped significantly to 3340 tons, a month-on-month drop of 4840 tons and a year-on-year drop of 7,380 tons. From January to July 2020, my country's methionine imports totaled 112,400 tons, down 2.02% year-on-year. The top three countries are Singapore, Belgium, and Malaysia. Among them, imports from Singapore accounted for the highest proportion, with a cumulative import of 41,400 tons, accounting for 36.8%. Followed by Belgium, the cumulative import volume from January to July was 33,900 tons, a year-on-year increase of 99%. The cumulative import volume from Malaysia was 24,100 tons, down 23.4% year-on-year. According to customs statistics, in July 2020, my country exported 47,000 tons of threonine products, a year-on-year increase of 23.68%. From January to July 2020, my country exported 343,000 tons of threonine, a year-on-year increase of 19.51%. From January to July 2020, the unit price of my country's threonine export was US$1347.7/ton, a year-on-year decrease of 6.4%. From January to July 2020, my country’s export volume to Europe, Asia, Africa and other regions remained high. The main exporting countries were Brazil, the United States, the Netherlands, Russia, Belgium, Spain, Thailand, Vietnam, and Canada. Among them, the export volume to Brazil was the highest at 35,500 tons. US exports were 26,300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.4%.
In July 2020, my country exported 5,096 tons of solid methionine, an increase of 1944.12 tons month-on-month and an increase of 2,593.78 tons year-on-year. From January to July 2020, my country exported 18,600 tons of methionine, a year-on-year decrease of 21,78.46 tons. From January to July 2020, my country's main exporters of methionine are Germany, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Brazil. Among them, the export volume to Germany was the highest, with 4,914 tons, accounting for 26.5% of the total export volume. From January to July 2020, my country's methionine exports to the United States, the Netherlands, and Egypt were 142 tons, 80.4, and 100 tons, respectively, which were significantly down year-on-year.
