Just over a month after the big explosion, another fire broke out in Beirut Port
Just over a month after the explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, the port where the explosion took place reappeared.
According to reports from The Associated Press and The Independent on September 10, a fire broke out in Beirut Port on Thursday. The video showed thick black smoke floating over downtown Beirut.
The Lebanese military said that a warehouse storing fuel and tires in the port was on fire. The military and fire brigade are currently rescued at the scene. Helicopters carrying water bombs also participated in the fire fighting.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown. A video taken by port workers earlier showed that workers near the port hurriedly fled the scene, and some chanted "Run fast."
The big explosion in Beirut Port on August 4 killed 191 people, injured more than 6,000, and made nearly 300,000 homeless. It was one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in the world.
There was also a fire in the port on September 8. The cause of the fire was that the Lebanese military requested the burning of explosive residues in the port and requested the support of the civil defense department.
