Analysis of the reasons why gas masks choose TPE
Gas mask refers to a kind of protective equipment to protect personal respiratory tract against poisonous gas. Nowadays, the material of gas mask has been changed from the original ordinary PVC rubber material to silicone rubber material and thermoplastic elastomer TPE.
There are various styles and designs of gas mask covers on the market, and most of the structures are made of a composite of hard plastic and soft rubber materials. Hard plastics generally refer to thermosetting plastics, which are generally processed by hot pressing and cannot be processed again after molding. Generally speaking, hard plastics are raw plastics that feel hard but are not very durable. In the gas mask cover, hard plastic is used to support the mask cover, so that the AIR can be effectively circulated; while the soft rubber material is formed by plastic injection, and it feels softer at room temperature, precisely because of the soft rubber material It is so soft that people will have a certain sense of comfort when they wear a gas mask cover and come in contact with the human body. With the birth of TPE materials, in the production process of gas mask covers, there are two materials used, one is Silica gel, and the other is environmentally friendly non-toxic TPE/TPR soft rubber material.
The main factors of selecting TPE material for gas mask cover are as follows:
Environmentally friendly, non-toxic and safe
TPE not only has the high elasticity, high strength and high resilience of rubber, but also has some characteristics of injection molding. It not only has the characteristics of environmental protection, non-toxicity and safety, but also has a very wide range of hardness and excellent colorability. Not only is it relatively soft to the touch, but it also has excellent weather resistance, fatigue resistance and temperature resistance;
Soft touch
TPE materials can provide suitable hardness materials. They can find a balanced fulcrum between the comfort of contact with the face and the strength of the material. Nowadays, the gas mask cover is made of soft rubber and TPE materials. Both of these materials have good low temperature resistance.
One piece
The TPE material can be directly adhered to the PP mask by injection molding to form a whole, and it can be assembled without the aid of adhesives and other pasted products. For the TPE material, it is suitable for mid-end anti-virus Mask cover, TPE material can be 100% recycled and reused through recycling.
