Jiangsu Meifeng Medical Technology Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as "Meifeng") completed the latest round of financing. This round of investment was led by the leading domestic head fund, with a total transaction volume of 100 million yuan. The funds will be used to promote the operation of Suzhou preclinical GLP experimental platform (Suzhou Jinyi Medical Technology Co., LTD.) and the construction of Taizhou Phase II preclinical experimental platform, to further improve the service capacity of Meifeng Li.

Meifeng is a comprehensive large animal experimental center specializing in preclinical experimental research of medical devices, which was founded in 2018 in Taizhou China Medical City, Jiangsu Province by a team of famous doctors represented by Dr. Wei Xufeng.

Since its establishment, Meifeng has completed more than 300 preclinical animal experiments of innovative medical device products, many of which are the first in China. More than 10 products have passed the innovation channel review, and obtained the recognition and business cooperation of the national drug administration, a number of provincial medical device testing institutes and professional testing institutions.

The professional technical team is the guarantee of Meifeng's strong business ability. The team leader, Dr. Wei Xufeng, is a cardiovascular surgeon in a famous hospital in China. He has completed the preclinical large animal experiments of high-end medical devices for FDA in the United States for a long time, and completed the FDA preclinical large animal experiments of the global innovative products artificial heart and artificial lung of GLP Laboratory. He has more than 20 years of clinical medical experience and experience in large animal experiments.

Meifeng has set up an international research medical talent team, gathering nearly 100 clinicians with doctor's degrees from famous international and domestic hospitals, covering all clinical disciplines, and can complete all categories of medical devices pre-clinical large animal experiments.

Since the official launch of animal experiments in October 2018, Meifeng has undertaken more than 300 experimental projects including a number of domestic listed companies, key scientific research institutes and foreign innovative enterprises, involving the world's most cutting-edge implant artificial heart, in vitro assisted artificial heart, interventional valve, new technology treatment of heart failure, intravenous radiofrequency ablation equipment and other innovative products.

At present, the team has completed more than 20 animal experiments of innovative products in the field of artificial heart and ECMO, making it one of the most mature preclinical evaluation teams in the world. In terms of surgical and interventional experiments of heart valvular animals, the team has the highest success rate of surgery, and is able to complete the total arch replacement of large vessels, heart transplantation and other difficult operations.

In 2022 alone, Meifeng Laboratory completed more than 1,800 experiments of various types, including more than 400 experiments of various types of interventional valve, with a success rate of more than 80%; The success rate of more than 200 surgical valve experiments is as high as 90%, ranking the first echelon in the global industry. After four years of development, the company has been able to complete preclinical animal experiments on cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, orthopedics, new materials, skin, surgical robots and other categories of medical instruments, and can create a variety of large animal disease models such as acute and chronic heart failure, cerebrovascular disease, neuropathy, tumor and so on for the evaluation of medical instruments and innovative drugs.

In 2023, Suzhou Jinyi Medical Technology Co., LTD., an advanced experimental platform of 4700 square meters located in Suzhou Industrial Park, will be officially put into operation in March. By then, we will be equipped with high-end 128-slice CT, Philips 7B20 (double C-arm) DSA equipment, PhilipsEPIQ7C cardiac ultrasound equipment, etc. It will have 5 DSA hybrid operating rooms, 3 transplantation operating rooms, 6 surgical operating rooms, 8 ICU rooms, a training center for endoscopy, a training center for surgical robots, and the world's top cardiac electrophysiological system.

The new laboratory in Suzhou will use a self-developed wireless vital signs collection system to further enhance the ICU care of animals after surgery, becoming the first laboratory in the world to continuously monitor vital signs of large animals on a full-time basis. The second phase of a new 12,800-square-meter laboratory at the Taizhou headquarters will also be completed and is expected to open by the end of the year. There will be more than 3,000 cages for pigs, sheep, dogs and monkeys.

As a public service platform for medical research based on large animal experiments, Meifeng Li and Suzhou Jinyi will provide a number of comprehensive pre-clinical evaluation services for scientific research institutes and pharmaceutical equipment enterprises.

Upon completion of the GLP system in the new laboratory in Suzhou, preclinical animal experiments and in vitro testing research reports on FDA and CE certified medical devices registration requirements will also be provided to medical device companies.

In addition, in collaboration with Taizhou Research Institute of Southeast University and China Center for Genetic Biotechnology (ICGEB), Meifeng also established China Medical City Medical device in vitro testing Laboratory and preclinical research Basic medical Laboratory, which added new contents for the service and evaluation of medical devices, such as conducting in vitro testing of metal and non-metal materials and performance testing for medical devices. For domestic and foreign medical device enterprises of heart valve, artificial heart, orthopedics and other products, we provide hemolysis performance testing and other medical device testing services, to ensure the effectiveness and safety of products with a higher and more complete testing system.
