Japan's Sumitomo Dyes will stop production in 2021
Affected by costs and profits, Japan's Sumitomo Dyestuffs will stop production in April 2021, including the active Sumifix series and the dispersed Sumikaron series.
Sumitomo Chemical of Japan originated from the fertilizer manufacturing plant established in Niihama, Ehime Prefecture in September 1913. It was renamed Sumitomo Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. in 1934. In 1944, it merged with Japan Dyestuff Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and entered the dye field. It was once the six major dyes in Japan. One of the companies whose output ranks among the top six dyeing companies in Japan.
Japan's Sumitomo Dyestuffs are mainly used in the market, which are the active Sumifix and the dispersant Sumikaron. If the main Japanese Sumitomo dyes cease production, printing and dyeing factories need to immediately look for alternatives, and soon there will be no more Sumitomo dyes in the market.
