Sichuan Tianhua: Strategic Shifts and Future Prospects in the Chemical Industry
On June 28th, Sichuan Tianhua Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sichuan Tianhua") announced on its official website the resolutions of the 2022 Annual Shareholders' Meeting. The meeting approved fourteen proposals, with the most notable being the termination of the construction of the annual 60,000-ton industrial demonstration project for bio-degradable high polymer new material PBAT.
According to public information, Sichuan Tianhua was established in 1993 with a registered capital of 165 million yuan. It is actively engaged in the development and production of chemical new products based on fertilizer production. It is an important large-scale state-owned holding backbone enterprise in Luzhou City, one of the top 100 manufacturing enterprises in Sichuan Province, one of the top 100 chemical fertilizer enterprises in China, and a key listed company cultivated in Luzhou City. It has several subsidiaries, including Sichuan Tianhua Fubang Chemical Co., Ltd., Sichuan Tiantuo Technology Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Tianhua Fubang Technology Co., Ltd.
Currently, the company owns several production facilities including 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, 520,000 tons of urea, 85,000 tons of 1,4-butanediol, 10,000 tons of gamma-butyrolactone series products, 46,000 tons of polytetrahydrofuran, as well as acetylene, dimethyl ether, air separation, environmental protection, and heating equipment.
The company's products such as urea, 1,4-butanediol, polytetrahydrofuran, butyrolactone, VP, NMP, etc., are well sold both domestically and internationally. "Tianhua" brand urea and 1,4-butanediol products have consecutively won the title of "Famous Brand Products in Sichuan Province," and PTMEG products have been honored as "Integrity Products in Sichuan Province."
In addition, during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Sichuan Tianhua planned key projects with a total investment of 12 billion yuan, including 200,000 tons per year of 1,4-butanediol, 150,000 tons per year of biodegradable polyester plastic (PBAT), and 100,000 tons per year of polytetrahydrofuran. Among them, the 60,000-ton PBAT project, 200,000-ton BDO project, and 100,000-ton polytetrahydrofuran project have been included in the "14th Five-Year Plan" of Luzhou City and the optimization of state-owned capital layout and structural adjustment plan of Sichuan Province.
Furthermore, the announcement also revealed the establishment of Sichuan Tianhua Chemical Enterprise Group and the change of the company's name to "Sichuan Tianhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd."
