Bayer: Two new products are coming soon

Bayer Cropscience recently announced that its seed treatment agent Emesto® Complete and its bactericidal and nematocidal agent Velum® Rise have been registered in Canada.

Emesto® Complete and Velum® Rise deliver on Bayer's commitment to provide Canadian potato growers with leading crop protection products.

Emesto® Complete is a combination product that includes the insecticide Clothianidin (Group 4) and the fungicide Emesto Silver [Prothiobacillazole (Group 3) + Penflufen (Group 7)] for broad spectrum control of several major pests and diseases. The newly improved Clothianidin formulation has good control effect on aphids, potato beetles, potato hoppers and potato leafhopper. Fungicide products are highly effective against the most serious potato diseases

According to Bayer, Emesto® Complete is not only easy to use, but also has the advantages of using less medication and less water. Emesto® Complete will be available for the 2024 potato growing season.

Velum® Rise is a broad spectrum bactericidal nematocidal product, a combination of Group 7 active ingredients Penflufen and Fluopicolide, that provides superior crop disease and nematode control for potato trench application. Velum® Rise builds on Velum Prime to extend disease control and maximize potato quality and yield. The product has good control effect on soil-borne Rhizoctonia solani, stem rot and naevus disease. It can also effectively inhibit early blight, black spot and plant pathogenic nematodes.

 Bayer said Velum® Rise effectively controls diseases that affect potato production and complements Bayer's potato portfolio. It is well compatible with other ditch application products such as Minuet®, a biocide, and seed treatment agents such as Emesto® Silver or Emesto® Complete. Velum® Rise will also be available for the 2024 planting season.
