AMVAC acquires Punto Verde to expand its Latin American business

AMVAC recently announced that its subsidiary LATAM has acquired Punto Verde, an established distributor based in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to strengthen its product portfolio and market share in Latin America. The parties announced October 5, 2023 as the official closing date of the transaction, and the terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

 AMVAC LATAM is a key player in the Latin American agricultural sector and has become a leader in the commercialization of crop protection products.

 Punto Verde is the leader in agricultural solutions in Ecuador, with a motivated and dynamic team, a successful business platform and a well-established corporate social responsibility program. In addition, Punto Verde has developed its own product range and maintains good working relationships with key business partners in the agricultural market. The company's business model is based on three pillars: research and development, professional teams, and a business platform that provides personalized service and high-quality products.

Ecuador is the seventh largest agricultural market in Latin America, and this acquisition will increase the company's total sales in Latin America by about 5%, and is an important way to open the South American market with a well-managed distribution business, said AMVAC’s general manager of international operations.
