Bayer launches its new Fluopicolide fungicide in Brazil
Recently, at the 2024 Brazil International Agricultural Show, Bayer announced the launch of a new fungicide Attila, the active ingredient is Fluopicolide, which has an effective control effect of white mildew.

Attila fungicides exhibit excellent absorption and resistance to rain erosion, and are not easily washed away by rain even in severe weather conditions, providing farmers with a reliable control option. Bayer noted that the Attila fungicide showed excellent preventive effects in the early stages of crop growth, significantly reducing infection rates. It recommends that farmers should start using Attila at the onset of plant flowers, with subsequent applications in due course depending on climatic conditions and professional advice to ensure crop health.
White mildew is a devastating disease that can spread rapidly through crops, affecting up to 400 plant species, and can persist in soil for up to 10 years, increasing the risk of disease transmission. In Brazil, nearly 30% of soybean plantations are affected by white mildew, which can cause productivity losses of up to 70% in severe cases, according to Embrapa, the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation. Characteristic symptoms of the disease include water-soaked lesions on the stems, wilting, lightening of the plant, and fragmentation of the stems
In addition to soybeans, Attila fungicides are also registered for the control of sclerotium disease in cotton and beans, further expanding their scope of application. Faced with the pressure of pests and diseases on tropical agriculture in Brazil, Bayer is committed to providing sustainable solutions to help farmers achieve the maximum productive potential of their crops.
