Kao's OTC Eczema Solution Introduces Ultra-thin Membrane Patch Technology
Kao USA Inc. introduces its new OTC brand, re/cover, a two-step steroid-free treatment for eczema.
Step one, the Calming Eczema Serum, is specially designed to alleviate eczema-related itching. It incorporates ingredients like horse chestnut and allantoin to reduce sensitivity and includes colloidal oatmeal for additional skin soothing.
The second step, the Moisture Patch, utilizes Kao's Fine Fiber technology, incorporating an ultra-thin membrane inspired by electrospinning technology. This patch is applied after the Calming Eczema Serum, creating a transparent, breathable "second skin" hydrating barrier that gradually disappears over time. Importantly, this barrier does not rely on traditional adhesives and effectively safeguards the treatment area while sealing in essential moisture. These patches can be worn for up to eight hours.

Users follow a seven-day regimen, utilizing the serum along with 14 patches (one for daytime and one for nighttime). This innovative system is set to debut on November 1, 2023, available at recoverskincare.com for $39.99.
Karen Frank, President of Consumer Care Business for the Americas and EMEA, expressed, "The launch of re/cover marks a significant milestone for Kao. We are the pioneers in introducing this groundbreaking system to the U.S. market. It underscores our unswerving dedication to revolutionizing eczema care and maintaining our leadership in therapeutic skin solutions. With re/cover, we are not merely altering the landscape; we are establishing a new benchmark for skincare excellence."
