Sytheon’s TC Fruit Extract: A Promising Solution for Reducing Wrinkles and Regulating Facial Sebum
Terminalia Chebula (TC), a medicinal plant commonly used in Ayurveda and herbal remedies, is known for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties. While TC has been traditionally applied topically for cosmetic benefits, researchers and dermatologists have been keen to explore the effects of TC on the skin through oral supplementation.

Fruit Extract Supplementation
In a quest to investigate these potential effects, researchers conducted a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study utilizing Synastol® TC (INCI: Terminalia Chebula Fruit Extract). The primary objective was to assess whether such supplementation could effectively regulate sebum production and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
The study involved 38 healthy female participants aged between 25 and 65. These individuals were randomly assigned to receive either a placebo capsule or a 250 mg capsule of Synastol® TC, to be taken twice daily for a duration of eight weeks.
Here are the key findings from the study:
1. Sebum Regulation: Subjects who consumed TC capsules experienced a remarkable 33% decrease in the rate of sebum excretion on their foreheads. In contrast, those who received the placebo capsules witnessed a significant 29% increase in sebum production at the end of the eight-week period (p<0.01).
2. Improved Skin Condition: The group taking TC capsules also exhibited a statistically significant reduction in cheek erythema (redness of the skin) after eight weeks, compared to those who received the placebo.
3. Wrinkle Reduction: Notably, the group receiving TC supplementation displayed a statistically significant decrease in facial wrinkles when compared to the placebo group.
In conclusion, Synastol® TC oral supplementation has proven to be an effective method for reducing facial sebum production and enhancing the appearance of the skin by diminishing wrinkles. This research highlights the potential of TC fruit extract as a promising solution for addressing skincare concerns, offering both cosmetic and dermatological benefits.
