Sumitomo: Excalia Max, a bactericide registered in Brazil, contains a new formamide component, Inpyrfluxam

2023-11-02

Sumitomo recently revealed that its newly launched Excalia Max (Inpyrfluxam+ Tebuconazole) fungicide has been registered in Brazil for the control of grain and seed rot diseases and soybean stem break disease. Such epidemics can seriously reduce grain quality and productivity, especially in the Mato Grosso region.

Sumitomo’s Manager and head of soybean planting expressed that Excalia Max can against diseases such as Pachyrhizi, Corynespora cassiicola, Cercospora kikuchii and Septoria glycines. Cercospora kikuchii and Septoria glycines are "end-growing diseases" (DFC), which can cause crop losses of up to 100% and have been affecting Brazilian soybeans. Sumitomo Chemical developed the Excalia Max solution over a 10-year period to help farmers solve the 40% yield loss problem.

Excalia Max was the only product that combined the new fungicide Inpyrfluxam with Tebuconazole, resulting in an increase of about two bags of soybeans per hectare during the 22/23 harvest compared to conventional fungicides. As the main solution in the fight against the most influential soybean pathogens, Excalia Max has now become an essential tool for Brazilian producers to increase their productivity.
