Adama: Will expand its coverage of the herbicide Apresa® in Latin America

2023-11-02

RecentlyAdama announced that it will expand the market coverage of Apresa®, a pre-crop premixed herbicide that has a broad spectrum of herbicides and is 20% more effective than barrel blends.

Apresa® contains two ingredients with complementary mechanisms of action, a high concentration of agents to eliminate difficult to control grass and broadleaf weeds, and a strong residual effect for soybean, corn and a variety of other crops, enabling farmers to easily and safely address weed problems before seedlings.

Apresa® utilizes Adama's proprietary TOV oil dispersion technology to maximize the potential benefits of combining two active ingredients.

Romeu Stanguerlin, Senior Vice President, Latin America, Adama, said: "Customers have always been looking for solutions that simplify plant protection operations, and Apresa® meets their expectations with its long-term, pure and simple features, making it ideal for renewable agriculture. This herbicide is used in the early stages of crop planting to help improve crop yield and quality, keep fields clean and facilitate crop harvesting. As an innovative formulation, Apresa® is highly resistant to UV degradation, has good stem conductivity, has significant synergies and is safe for crops."

Based on more than 200 trials conducted in recent years on soybeans, corn, and other crops, Apresa® has been shown to be effective against weeds of Amaranthus family, cow's weed, sheep's sorrell, and many other weeds. The herbicidal effect is widely recognized by agronomic consultants, researchers, and farmers, and is an excellent tool for weed resistance management because it often lasts the entire planting season.

Launched successfully in Brazil in 2022 and in Argentina and Paraguay earlier this year, Apresa® is expected to become one of Adama's leading pre-emergence herbicides for Latin American soybean fields. In addition to soybeans, the product is also suitable for corn, peanuts, sugar cane, a variety of vegetables, and forestry applications.
