 According to data analysis by the Digifarmz Smart Agriculture platform, the most widely used site-specific fungicides used by producers during the 2023-2024 Brazilian crop season were products containing Prothioconazole and Tebuconazole. Digifarmz observed that multi-site protective fungicides have significantly increased their market share in recent years due to a decline in the performance of site-specific components. In southern Brazil in particular, there are even shortages of products such as Mancozeb and Chlorothalonil due to heavy rainfall and the severity of diseases such as Asian soybean rust.

 

Digifarmz's R&D Technical coordinator said that based on product performance in recent years, it is expected that multi-site protective fungicides will continue to expand their market share and become an integral part of the control process, and the demand for three-component blends is growing, while the launch of four-component blends is also imminent. The coordinator stressed that these products not only simplify the operation process for producers, but also ensure the stability of the formula and effectively reduce the risk of dangerous tank mixtures. In particular, the market demand for products based on amides and multi-site protection is growing.

 

Considering the likely climatic conditions for the 2024-2025 crop season, Digifarmz's R&D technical coordinator cautioned that climate change could significantly affect the prevalence and severity of fungal diseases, and that La Nina predictions could bring dry conditions in some regions and more extreme weather patterns in others. Therefore, the expectations of the fungicide market vary from region to region, depending on specific climatic conditions.
