Kensing Expands Natural Antioxidant Portfolio with AOM Integration
In a milestone move, AOM has officially become a part of the Kensing family after two decades of pioneering advancements in natural antioxidants, Vitamin E, and Phytosterols production. This strategic acquisition positions Kensing as a global leader in Natural Tocopherols and Phytosterols, with state-of-the-art plants spanning North America, Europe, and Latin America. Kensing's expanded portfolio now includes both traditional Soybean-sourced products and non-GMO, allergen-free Tocopherols and Phytosterols from Sunflower and European Rapeseed, catering to diverse sectors like food, dietary supplements, personal care, and pet food.
In line with Kensing's steadfast commitment to sustainability, their production facilities strategically coexist with raw material sources, minimizing the environmental footprint. Notably, Kensing's factories in the United States, Argentina, and Spain employ innovative upcycling practices for by-products from edible oil refining, ensuring raw material sourcing without cultivating additional land.
The raw materials, known as "deodorization distillates" or "DOD," yield valuable molecules for the food and cosmetic industries, namely tocopherols and phytosterols. Tocopherols act as natural antioxidants, while phytosterols have been associated with reducing LDL-cholesterol.
An exciting outcome of this acquisition is the incorporation of two AOM products, Sun E and Nutripherol, into the Kensing portfolio.
Nutripherol: Dual Antioxidant Power
Rapeseed tocopherol, as found in Nutripherol, boasts a unique natural composition containing both d-α-Tocopherol and d-γ-Tocopherol. This dual antioxidant function addresses lipid rancidity while providing a Vitamin E boost (d-α-Tocopherol) for oxidation and cellular aging control. Nutripherol offers a streamlined solution for food formulations or vitamin premixes, efficiently replacing two ingredients (Antioxidants + Vitamin E) with a single ingredient, enhancing formulation efficiency.
Sun E: The Epitome of Natural Vitamin E
Sun E, extracted from sunflower oil, stands out as a natural Vitamin E source, containing over 90% d-α-Tocopherol without the need for chemical modification. Unlike sources like soybean, which require hydroxymethylation for high Vitamin E concentration, Sun E's extraction involves natural physical processes, preserving its molecular structure. Recent studies demonstrate Sun E's bioefficiency, showing at least twice the potency of synthetic Vitamin E and increased d-α-tocopherol accumulation in tissues for heightened health protection.
