UPL has established a global NPP research Center for Natural Plant Production in Mexico

2023-11-22

Recently, UPL announced the opening of a Global Natural Plant Production (NPP) research center in Ramos Arispe, Mexico, to develop innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture, an investment in research and development that will strengthen UPL's position as a global leader in sustainable agriculture solutions.

UPL is a global leader in biological solutions and its broad Natural Plant protection (NPP) portfolio covers a range of applications, including improving crop resistance to disease, pests and environmental conditions, maintaining crop nutrition and improving soil health while reducing residues and environmental impacts. Biological solutions refer to agricultural inputs developed using natural active ingredients, including a variety of ingredients ranging from seaweed extracts to microorganisms.

The global NPP research center has advanced equipment and will advance natural solutions through more scientific and effective means. This modern greenhouse with specialized equipment will serve as a hub for researchers, facilitating their collaboration with local and international universities, research centers, and a platform for agricultural knowledge and innovative solutions.

Mike Frank, CEO of UPL, said the NPP Research Center will continue to create value for growers and strengthen its focus on differentiated and sustainable solutions, and this facility is an important milestone in advancing agriculture around the world.

Jai Shroff, CEO and Chairman of UPL, said the NPP Research Center reflects UPL's mission to achieve sustainable rebranding and commitment to building a connected and collaborative ecosystem that will help address key challenges such as thermal and water stress, soil health, and positively impact global food security.
