Phenamacril was expanded to corn in China
A few days ago, Jiangsu Suyan Pesticide’s 10% Hymexazol·metalaxyl-M·Phenamacril FS approved for expansion of registration.
The newly registered crops and control objects are corn stalk rot, and the method of coating is 225-300 ml /100 kg corn seed dose. This is the first time that Phenamacril has been registered on corn in China, and it is also the second Hymexazol product registered on corn in China. The original registered crops and control objects of the product are bakanae disease of rice, rice seedling rot and damping off.
Phenamacril is a 2-Propenoic acid fungicide developed independently in China, which has good control effect on many diseases caused by Fusarium. Previously, there were 3 kinds of registered crops in China, namely wheat, rice and strawberry, which were used for the prevention and control of gibberellic disease, bakanae disease and blight.
As of October 31, 2023, a total of 123 pesticide products for the prevention and control of corn stalk rot (stem rot, stem wilt) have been effectively registered in China, of which 62 contain metalaxyl-M components, 61 contain Fludioxonil components, and 32 contain Thiram components (27 of which also contain Carbofuran components and are facing elimination). There are 25 products containing Azoxystrobin components, 10 containing Pyraclostrobin components, in addition to a small number of products containing Tebuconazole, Ipconazole, Triticonazole, Difenoconazole, Thiophanate-Methyl and Captan.
GB 2763-2021 only stipulates that the maximum residue limit standard of Phenamacril in wheat in China is 0.05 mg/kg (provisional limit).
