Nortox Unveils Innovative Fungicide Scudeiro (Prothioconazole + Tebuconazole) to Tackle Crop Diseases in Brazil
In a recent revelation to AgroPages, Brazilian agricultural company Nortox announced the launch of its latest innovation, the fungicide Scudeiro (prothioconazole + tebuconazole), in Brazil. This broad-spectrum systemic fungicide has secured registration for use on various crops including cotton, corn, wheat, barley, and sorghum, presenting a powerful solution to combat target spot and Asian rust without the need for additional auxiliaries.
Developed through collaborative efforts involving 27 research institutions in Brazil, Scudeiro boasts a distinctive formula that has demonstrated remarkable efficacy in controlling target leaf spot and Asian rust. Notably, it exhibits selectivity in soybean cultivation, providing a tailored approach to disease management.
Addressing the challenges posed by persistent diseases in soybean, cotton, corn, and wheat crops that can linger for a year or more, Nortox emphasizes the importance of integrated disease management. Through extensive trials involving various fungicide combinations, Nortox identified a blend of two triazole fungicides, prothioconazole and tebuconazole, as the optimal solution for effectively controlling target spot and rust without posing a significant risk of drug resistance.
Nortox underscores the significance of Scudeiro by highlighting its recognition as a priority product by the Department of Agriculture. This acknowledgment is attributed to the fungicide's unprecedented formula and technology, signifying a groundbreaking contribution to the agricultural sector.
The introduction of Scudeiro underscores Nortox's commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions for crop protection, aligning with the evolving needs of the agricultural industry. As farmers face the ongoing challenge of disease management, Scudeiro emerges as a valuable tool in their arsenal, offering a potent and sustainable approach to safeguarding crop health and ensuring robust agricultural yields.
