Argentina's leading agrochemical company Surcos will invest $36 million in global expansion
Argentine bio-input company Surcos has announced that it will invest $36 million in global expansion by 2030, saying that it plans to enter 12 global markets while focusing mainly on Brazil and the United States.
Surcos noted that the next five years will be the largest investment in developing formulation technologies, aiming to generate $500 million by providing innovative inputs to agriculture and applying efficient and sustainable technologies, of which $280 million will come from Argentina and Southern Latin America and $25 million from royalties. $250 million from partners' sales to the market.
In addition, Surcos announced plans to introduce new patents in biological products and animal nutrition, and will invest in formulations, registration and regulatory matters to protect intellectual property rights; In addition to its two plants in Argentina, Surcos will open an additional plant in Latin America in 2024, and in this way it hopes to take a leading position in the global industry.
The company's expansion strategy in Brazil and the United States involves licensing products and technologies to third parties. The Managing Director of Surcos Impact said that having international level equipment and the development of technical procedures allows it to work with market leading companies, which not only ensures the reliability of its products, but also brings very positive synergies.
Sebastian Calvo, president and CEO of Surcos, said the company, which currently has 10 granted patents and has applied for more than 98 patents, is expanding in recognition of the need for more sustainable and efficient agriculture. This aligns with Surcos' core philosophy, which since 2008 has been developing products based on three concepts: environmental protection, greater agronomic efficiency and healthier food promotion.
