Puig Acquires Majority Stake in Luxury Skincare Brand Dr. Barbara Sturm
Puig acquires a majority stake in German molecular cosmetics brand Dr. Barbara Sturm. Founder Dr. Barbara Sturm will retain a minority stake and continue to lead the brand's product development as chief product development officer and brand ambassador.
With this acquisition, Puig strengthens its competitive position in the high-end skin care field. Dr. Barbara Sturm is a globally recognized luxury brand that has grown through its digital channels and a global network of spas and boutiques in Dusseldorf, London, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas, Jakarta and Singapore, providing high-performance care in skincare with deep expertise.
Marc Puig, chairman and CEO of Puig, said the new partnership strengthens Puig’s skin care segment and their business in the United States.
Puig's product portfolio includes the brands Carolina Herrera, Rabanne, Charlotte Tilbury, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dries Van Noten, Nina Ricci, Byredo, Penhaligon's, L'Artisan Parfumeur, Uriage, Apivita, Kama Ayurveda, Loto del Sur
Launched in 2014 and currently offering over 300 products and over 5,000 curated skin care routines, the Dr. Barbara Sturm molecular cosmetics brand has gained global recognition and a cult following.
All Dr. Barbara Sturm products are synthetic fragrance and paraben-free, no animal testing and suitable for all skin types and concerns.
