Argentina's DeepAgro launches SprAI, a selective herbicide AI technology, which can reduce pesticide use by 70%
Recently, Argentine’s DeepAgro released its artificial Intelligence-based crop selective weeder technology, SprAI, at the Global Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas, the United States.
SprAI as a selective herbicide can be sprayed to avoid unnecessary waste in crop areas. Compared to conventional spraying, SprAI technology can reduce pesticide use by 70% and environmental pollution by 45%. It is estimated that each hectare of land can save $20 to $40 in pesticide costs. The product is currently available in key South American markets such as Argentina and Uruguay, and will be expanded to the neighboring Brazilian market in the coming months. DeepAgro is also exploring potential commercialization paths for SprAI in the United States
According to DeepAgro, AI is completely disrupting all industries, and agriculture is no exception. The global agricultural AI market is expected to grow to $4 billion by 2026, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25.5%. DeepAgro aims to become the world's leading company in AI agriculture.
In late 2023, DeepAgro received $2 million in funding that will help accelerate the development and commercialization of its agricultural AI technologies and products.
