Elementis to Open New Unit in Portugal in First Half of 2024

Elementis will open a new unit in Portugal with a center of excellence and an R&D laboratory.

Headquartered in Porto, the new unit of Elementis is scheduled to open in the first half of 2024 and will support the company's personal care and performance expertise while strengthening the company's research and development capabilities in laboratories in Asia and the Americas.

The new department is expected to invest $3.2 million by the end of 2024, in addition to an annual investment of $6.4 million in personnel, facilities and laboratories.

The company aims to collaborate with local institutions such as the Universidade Católica do Porto through the Center of Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF) of the Advanced Institute of Biotechnology.
