On January 29, 2024, the proposed merger of the long-established companies Novonesis and CHR. Hansen was officially completed, which also announced the formation of Novonesis. Novonesis is committed to being a leading global partner for biological solutions that drive better business, healthier lifestyles and a more sustainable planet. The combined company brings together more than 10,000 employees worldwide with expertise across more than 30 different industry sectors.
On December 12, 2022, Novonesis and CHR Hansen reached an agreement to create a leading global biological solutions partner through the statutory merger of the two companies. Today, following the completion of the final registration with the Danish Business Administration, all regulatory approvals and registration procedures are in place and the proposed merger is officially completed.

The combination of Novonesis and CHR Hansen will create a leading global biosolutions partner with a rich portfolio of biosolutions and a diversified product portfolio in the market. The combined group has annual revenues of approximately €3.7 billion with solid profitability and good cash flow.The combined group will operate a global network of research and development, application centers and manufacturing sites. Half of the new company's portfolio will focus on enabling healthier lives and producing better food, while the other half will focus on reducing chemical use and achieving climate neutrality. The future revenue report will be divided into two sections, each of which will provide performance in the following sales areas:
