Sumitomo Heavy Industries opens new regional headquarters in Europe
Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (SHI), a global leader in multiple industries, announces the formation of Sumitomo Heavy Industries (Europe) B.V., a new regional company headquartered in Amstelveen, the Netherlands.
This strategic move reinforces SHI's commitment to Europe, a key market for the company, with around 60 businesses managed and operating across all four SHI segments: Mechatronics, Industrial Machinery, Logistics and Construction, and Energy and Lifeline.
Shaun Dean, Senior Vice President of SHI and Managing Director of Sumitomo Heavy Industries (Europe) B.V. said: "Europe is an important region for SHI and the establishment of this facility reinforces our determination to effectively serve our European customers and drive growth across the continent. SHI Europe B.V. will unlock synergies across sales, services and infrastructure, promoting enhanced collaboration and governance to achieve the success of our business in Europe. It will act as a catalyst for innovation and growth, ensuring the Group's continued success in this dynamic market."
The new company aims to strengthen growth by optimizing operational excellence and implementing strategic initiatives among European businesses; to expand SHI's market reach by driving its market presence within and outside Europe; champion sustainable development by supporting increasing European environmental initiatives and regulations within the Group; develop diverse talent by promoting talent mobility and development.
