DIC subsidiary Ideal Chemi Plast starts operations of paint resin plant in Maharashtra
DIC Corporation announced that its subsidiary Ideal Chemi Plast Pvt. Ltd. has opened a new production plant at Supa Japan Industrial Area, Maharashtra on February 15, 2024 to produces coating resins for automotive and infrastructure applications and commences operations.
The new plant triples the production capacity of Ideal Chemi Plast coating resins (acrylic, polyester, alkyd, etc.), enabling it to expand the business in India, across South Asia and the Middle East. DIC Group is committed to growing its coating resins business globally. The Indian coating resin market is a major target of this effort and is expected to continue growing at around 9% annually.
By tripling Ideal Chemi Plast's coating resin production capacity, the new production facility enhances the company's ability to further expand its business by responding to growing domestic demand and providing localized solutions that meet the needs of coating resin customers.
To ensure that it operates without harming the environment, the new plant has been installed with a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system, allowing it to treat all wastewater internally to produce clean water suitable for industrial use. In order to reduce its carbon footprint, the plant also chooses to use clean natural gas and energy-saving equipment, and adopts environmentally friendly and safe operations.
In its DIC Vision 2030 long-term management plan, the company has laid out a regional strategy for growth by expanding its production base in South Asia. In line with this strategy, the group will also leverage the marketing efforts of subsidiary DIC South Asia Private Limited, which oversees operations western part of region, to strengthen the new production facility of Ideal Chemi Plast as a supply base for coatings and functional resins. Not just in India but across South Asia as well as exporting these products to the Middle East and Africa.
