The Tebuconazole paste for preventing Brown root disease of rubber tree was developed in Hainan University
A total of 8 kinds of rubber root diseases have been reported abroad, and 7 kinds have been found in China, respectively, red root disease, brown root disease, purple root disease, black root disease, stink root disease, black root disease, white root disease.
Among them, the brown root disease caused by the harmful laminaria is one of the main root diseases of rubber trees in China, which is often controlled by digging isolated trenches and applying root medicine, but these methods consume a lot of manpower and material resources, and the control cost is high. In order to search for a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly new control technology, researchers from Hainan University's Sanya Research Institute of Southern Culture/Tropical Agriculture and Forestry College recently successfully prepared a Tebuconazole paste that can prevent rubber tree brown root disease by screening different fungicides, fillers, thickeners, penetrants and moisturizers.
Through comprehensive evaluation of performance indicators such as appearance, adhesion, viscosity, pH value, stability, film formation and solid loss rate, the researchers determined that the best formula of the paste was: 0.5% (mass fraction, residual same) Tebuconazole, 20% nano-diatomaceous earth, 2% CMC-Na, 6% Udill bark penetrant, 5% petroleum jelly, 5% palm oil, 5% Ethylene glycoll, and the remainder is water.
The paste is milky and viscous, weakly alkaline, strong adhesion, high viscosity, qualified cold and hot storage, thin film formation and toughness, the solid content loss rate of the film is 13.95%, and the resistance to rain erosion is strong. The content of Tebuconazole reached 5.49 mg/kg in 96 hours after the application of the paste on the stem base of rubber plants, indicating that Tebuconazole could penetrate the bark of the stem and conduct down to the root. Therefore, the development of the paste provides a new way for chemical control of brown root disease of rubber tree.
As of the end of February 2024, a total of 13 Tridemorph products were effectively registered in China for the prevention and treatment of Ganoderma pseudoferreum, including 10 750g/l EC, and 3 86%, 860g/l oil agents; Tebuconazole has not been registered on rubber trees in China; At present, 1 1% Tebuconazole paste and 1 1% Tebuconazole paste products effectively registered in China are used to prevent apple tree rot.
