Hansoh Pharmaceutical Enters Reaping Season with Over 10 Billion Yuan in Revenue, Innovative Products Account for 67.9%
Hansoh Pharmaceutical, a renowned pharmaceutical company, has recently announced its remarkable performance for the year 2023. With revenue surpassing 10 billion yuan and innovative products contributing to 67.9% of its total income, the company has entered a highly successful phase. Hansoh Pharmaceutical revealed its annual financial results for 2023, showcasing impressive growth in various aspects of its business. The company's revenue reached a staggering 10.104 billion yuan, marking a 7.7% increase compared to the previous year. Furthermore, its profits surged by 26.9% to reach 3.278 billion yuan. Notably, sales from innovative drugs and collaborative products amounted to approximately 6.865 billion yuan, representing a remarkable growth rate of 37.1% and accounting for 67.9% of the company's total revenue, a significant rise from 53.4% in 2022.
The success of Hansoh Pharmaceutical' innovative products can be attributed to its substantial investment in research and development (R&D). The company allocated 2.097 billion yuan towards R&D, reflecting a notable increase of 23.8% from the previous year. This investment accounted for 20.8% of the company's total revenue, highlighting its commitment to developing groundbreaking pharmaceutical solutions.
Among the revenue generated from innovative drugs, the field of oncology stood out with sales amounting to 6.169 billion yuan, constituting 61% of the total revenue. Key products in this category include Amel® (Ameitinib Mesylate), Hausenxinfu® (Fluoromatinib Mesylate), Pulailo® (Pemetrexed Disodium) for injection, Pulaitan® (Enzalutamide) soft capsules, Xinwei® (Imatinib Mesylate), and Tanneng® (Fostamatinib Disodium) for injection. Notably, Amel® is the first domestically developed third-generation EGFR-TKI drug in China, while Hausenxinfu® is the first domestically developed novel second-generation TKI for chronic myeloid leukemia. Additionally, Shiwio® is the world's first oral selective exportin-1 (XPO1) inhibitor.
In the field of anti-infective drugs, Hansoh Pharmaceutical generated approximately 1.269 billion yuan in revenue, accounting for 12.6% of the total income. Key products in this category include Hengmu® (Emtricitabine Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate), Mailinda® (Metronidazole Sodium Chloride Injection), and Hengsen® (Micaflone Sodium) for injection. Hengmu® is China's first domestically developed oral antiviral drug for hepatitis B.
Revenue from the central nervous system (CNS) sector amounted to around 1.367 billion yuan, representing 13.5% of the total income. Key products in this category include Xinyue® (Inanertuzumab Ozogamicin) injection, Ameining® (Agomelatine) tablets, Ailanning® (Paliperidone Extended-Release Tablets), and Oulanning® (Olanzapine Enteric-Coated Tablets). Xinyue® is the world's only humanized CD19 monoclonal antibody for the treatment of AQP4 antibody-positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD).
Revenue from the metabolism and other therapeutic areas reached approximately 1.299 billion yuan, accounting for 12.9% of the total income. Key products in this category include Fulaimei® (Polyethylene Glycol-Losartan Sodium Injection), Shengluolai® (Pamrevlumab Injection), Ruipote® (Rabeprazole Sodium Enteric-Coated Tablets), Fulaidi® (Riglitazone Tablets), Fulairui® (Caragliatin Tablets), and Punuoan® (Alisertib Tablets). Shengluolai® is the world's first approved erythropoietin (EPO) mimetic peptide.
Apart from its exceptional product portfolio, Hansoh Pharmaceutical is actively engaged in over 50 ongoing clinical trials for innovative drugs, spanning more than 30 different categories. In 2024, the company plans to initiate clinical trials for eight new innovative drugs in mainland China. These include HS-10241, a c-MET TKI used in combination with Ameitinib Mesylate for the treatment of local advanced or metastatic NSCLC patients with EGFR mutations and MET amplifications, HS-10365, a RET inhibitor undergoing crucial registration clinical trials for treating RET gene fusion-positive NSCLC patients.
