FastenMaster launches deck frame coating
FastenMaster, a division of OMG, Inc., introduces Deck Frame Coating, a water-based sealant that helps extend the life of your deck by creating a long-lasting moisture barrier.
The new coating is designed to be rolled or painted onto the tops of deck joists, decking, stair stringers, columns, beams and other framing components to prevent wood rot and decay. FastenMaster Deck Frame Coating is water-based, does not contain any VOCs or solvents, and is non-flammable.
Once applied, it's ready to use within 20 minutes and won't slow down flooring professionals during installation. Once dry, the coating forms a long-lasting seal around deck fasteners. Additionally, it's very effective for corners and other hard-to-reach places where joist tape would be difficult to completely cover.
"When it comes to decorating, professionals look to FastenMaster to provide state-of-the-art products that increase productivity on the job site,” said John McMahon, director of FastenMaster’s decorating business unit. “This new deck frame coating makes them work faster and more productively than joist tape, which is very expensive and labor-intensive to install."
FastenMaster Deck Frame Coating comes in a 1-gallon (3.7 L) bucket and covers up to 450 linear feet (137.2 m) of 2x framing.
