Evonik announces latest MetAMINO ATLAS global trial results

ECHEMI 2024-04-03

Evonik has released the second edition of MetAMINO ATLAS, a comprehensive set of 19 new performance tests designed to study the relative bioavailability of supplementary methionine sources in animal diets.

New research once again confirms that 65 units of MetAMINO can replace 100 units of methionine hydroxy analog free acids and its calcium salts (MHA-FA/Ca) in poultry, swine and aquatic animal feeds without affecting animal performance.

The trials were conducted in experimental settings and under real-world conditions on large commercial farms with more than 2 million animals in 12 countries. Some of the largest trials include 838,000 ducks and 120,000 laying hens in China, 408,500 broilers in Germany and 217,000 broilers in Brazil.

"All results impressively demonstrate that our MetAMINO 65% bioefficacy concept is universally applicable - for all MHA products, for all monogastric farm and aquatic species, in any nutritional environment, any climate and production conditions," says Dr. Dirk Hoehler, Head of Essential Nutrition in Evonik's Animal Nutrition business line. "This means customers using MetAMINO® can achieve similar animal performance with fewer units of product, reducing feed costs while increasing overall profits. "
