Syngenta launches Evagio Forte in the UK
Recently, Syngenta has launched a new fungicide, Evagio Forte, in the UK to help control crop disease for the 2024 planting season. The product combines CAA-type active ingredients Mandipropamid and Amisulbrom in an optimized formula, integrating disease control and resistance management, and is considered as a powerful solution to achieve sustainable pest management.
Evagio Forte integrates two major classes of active ingredients with different mechanisms of action to play a synergistic role, ensuring the overall effectiveness of disease control while adding a new boost to resistance management strategies. The optimized formulation of Evagio Forte helps to reduce the overall active load compared to when the active ingredient is used alone, while still achieving the same excellent level of disease control.
Evagio Forte is a preventive product that growers can use from the beginning of flowering until the peak of the crop before harvest. The product is not only highly active against the germination of disease spores, but also effectively inhibits the growth and reproduction of bacteria through rapid penetration, helping to maintain a disease-free leaf surface and reduce the risk of crop disease such as tuber.
In order to achieve the best resistance management, farmers can reasonably determine the time and interval of application in combination with Syngenta's weather forecasting system Blightcast and local pathogen occurrence. In addition, the use of Evagio Forte should also comply with FRAC specifications for the total number of CAA applications and should be used interchangeably with other fungicide products with different mechanisms of action.
Syngenta urged growers to remain vigilant about pathogen resistance. Although no strains resistant to CAA-type active ingredients have been identified in the UK, preventive measures are essential, and combination use and rotation of chemical action modes remain key tools for resistance management.
