Dunn-Edwards opens 17 new stores to fill gap in Northern California
Dunn-Edwards Corporation announced the opening of 17 stores in Northern California, expanding its presence in the region by more than 50 percent.
The physical expansion supports Dunn-Edwards Corporation's focus on strategic growth and expansion in key markets and serving the overall needs of new and existing customers amid the recent closure of California-founded coatings manufacturer Kelly Moore.
With new stores opening in San Francisco, Cupertino, Santa Cruz, Oakland, Chico and more, customers in the region will now have better access to Dunn-Edwards' products, services and expert color matching capabilities, including precise color matching of Kelly Moore's popular shade Swiss Coffee 23.
The expansion comes at an exciting time for the traditional coatings manufacturer as it celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2025. Currently with 174 company stores across the Southwest, Dunn-Edwards is focused on continuing its legacy into the new century by prioritizing innovation and support for coatings professionals, homeowners and employees.
Monte Lewis, chief operating officer of Dunn-Edwards, said:"For nearly a century, Dunn-Edwards has prioritized our hardworking employees, contractors and customers. Through recent industry challenges, we believe more than ever that our employees are our most valuable asset."
"The sudden closure of the Kelly Moore facility has devastated hundreds of loyal employees and impacted painting professionals across the region. By acting quickly and decisively, we hope our expansion will provide relief to those impacted, build trust with new and existing employees, and customers for years to come."
The new store will employ approximately 125 employees at 17 new locations, almost all of whom are former Kelly Moore employees. Dunn-Edwards is also prioritizing the expansion of authorized dealer locations nationwide to serve a broader range of customers and professionals. Recent development areas include California, Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas.
