In the past 5 years, 102 pesticide products have been registered for cotton in China, with more PGR

China is one of the world's major cotton producers and consumers. China's cotton production ranks first in the world, and its consumption and processing of chemical fibers rank first in the world. In 2022, China's cotton planting area will reach 45.05 million mu, with a cotton output of 5.977 million tons, up 4.29 percent year on year. China's cotton production area is mainly divided into three cotton producing areas, namely Xinjiang cotton area, Yellow River basin cotton area and Yangtze River basin cotton area. Among them, the cotton region of Xinjiang leads the country in terms of planting area, yield and output per unit area, accounting for 83.22% and 90.19% of the country's cotton planting area and output in 2022. Cotton medicine has also been concerned by pesticide companies.

Through the inquiry of China Pesticide Information Network, 102 pesticide products have been registered for cotton (field) in the past five years, of which there are many PGRs. Among them, 13 kinds of formulation were involved, the largest number was 39 SC, followed by 23 EC, 11 WG, and the remaining formulations were less than 10.

The most registered active ingredients were Flumioxazin and Pendimethalin, followed by Diuron, Thidiazuron, Flonicamid, etc., involving a total of 40 ingredients. Annual weeds were the largest number of registered control objects, followed by regulated growth and aphids.
