Dow Chemical announces expansion of SAS Chemicals’ high-performance curtain wall industry capabilities
Dow Chemical announced capacity expansion through a minority investment in SAS Chemicals GmbH, a German specialty chemicals producer of sealants and components used in insulating glass manufacturing, to create a more comprehensive facade offering.
With the expansion of SAS Chemicals GmbH's production capabilities, Dow Chemical offers insulating glass manufacturers a broader range of high-performance adhesive and sealant solutions.
"With expanded capacity and products, our customers will benefit from total system solutions in sealant and adhesive technologies that address performance, productivity and quality needs in the facade and window sectors," said Jean-Paul Hautekeer, global strategic market director for Building & Infrastructure at Dow Consumer Solutions, "This investment solidifies our position as a leading materials science supplier to the global curtain wall industry."
The Dow Chemical Company has a minority investment in SAS Chemicals GmbH, which produces and supplies adhesives and sealants used in the manufacture of insulating glass windows. As part of the capacity expansion, SAS Chemicals will strengthen its presence in Germany and expand production in Turkey, which is ideally located to effectively serve global markets and complement existing SAS operations. SAS Chemicals' Turkish plant is expected to start production in June 2024.
