Azelis acquires Gillco Ingredients to strengthen its life sciences portfolio in the US
Azelis, a leading global provider of innovative services to the specialty chemicals and food ingredients industry, announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of Gillco Ingredients, a leading supplier of specialty ingredients to the food and nutrition markets in the United States.
The acquisition represents a strategic expansion into the attractive food and nutrition market in the United States and strengthens Azelis' footprint in the life sciences sector. In addition to the group's flavor and fragrance product offerings, Gillco helps Azelis build a compelling product portfolio and execute its growth strategy in the U.S. food and nutrition industry and the broader life sciences sector in North America.
Founded in 1982, Gillco has long-standing relationships with blue-chip suppliers around the world, offering a diverse portfolio of specialty ingredients and applications in most areas of the food industry, including bakery, culinary, beverage, dairy and nutraceuticals, with strong market expertise.
Dr. Hans Joachim Müller, CEO of Azelis, commented:"We are delighted to welcome Gillco to the Azelis family, in line with our strategic vision to be a preeminent provider of innovative services in all regions where we operate. This acquisition strengthens our horizontal value chain in the food and nutrition market and the broader life sciences sector in the United States and enables us to deliver a truly compelling proposition to principals and customers."
Frank Bergonzi, CEO of Azelis Americas, added:"Gillco's national reach, solid market position and long-standing relationships with multiple blue-chip companies will give us a significant presence in the U.S. food market, which is Azelis' strategic focus for the Americas. In addition, both Gillco and Azelis are committed to technology expertise, strong digital capabilities and sustainability. This combination will provide numerous operational synergies and a platform for further growth by leveraging Azelis' international infrastructure and global laboratory network."
Bill Gillies, owner of Gillco Ingredients said:"Gillco looks forward to continuing our tradition of thoughtful growth and customer collaboration through our team of experienced and dedicated employees and long-term relationships with key suppliers and customers. Becoming part of Azelis, the global market leader, is a new milestone in our company's development. We share a similar vision and culture and I am confident that Gillco will continue to thrive as part of the Azelis Group."
