CatSci acquires chromatography provider Reach Separations
To bolster its chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) capabilities, CatSci, a UK-based contract research organization (CRO) for process research and development, has acquired chromatography provider Reach Separations. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Headquartered in the UK with labs in the UK and France, Reach Separations specializes in chromatography for the analysis and purification of chiral and achiral pharmaceuticals. The company can perform purification projects ranging from discovery chromatography to large-scale supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) for chiral purification and impurity separation.
With the acquisition of Reach, CatSci will be able to offer its global customers a holistic chromatography service for the analysis of small molecules, oligonucleotides and other complex synthetic pharmaceuticals, the company said.
Ross Burn, CatSci CEO, said: "We are delighted to welcome Reach Separations to the CatSci Group. With the development of new modalities such as oligonucleotides, TACs (targeted chimeras) and glues, there is a growing need to solve complex analytical problems and meet evolving regulatory requirements."
Peter Ridgway, Reach Separations Business Development Director, added: "Becoming part of the CatSci Group will enhance and strengthen Reach Separations' ability to provide exceptional services in chromatography. Combining our technologies and expertise in discovery and development will provide a one-stop analytical and cleanup service, giving customers multiple options to advance their assets' journey."
