Nordson Industrial Coating Systems Invests $30 Million in New Clinton Facility

ECHEMI 2024-07-18

Nordson Industrial Coating Systems is building its newest manufacturing facility in Lawrence County. The $30 million investment will create 125 new production, processing, engineering and administrative jobs, and the facility will be located at 19375 Highway 72 East in Clinton, according to a news release.

Founded in 1954, the Nordson ICS division manufactures and sells airless spray equipment. Today, manufacturers use ICS equipment to precisely spray and cure powder coatings, liquid coatings, ambient temperature adhesives and sealants, and to produce food and beverage containers. Nordson customers use its equipment to apply powder coatings to products such as hubcaps, dishwashers, and soda cans to prevent corrosion.

Over the past few decades, Nordson has grown into a self-renewing global organization with operations around the world. The company expects its 225,000-square-foot facility to be operational by the end of November this year. The company has begun hiring. Ready SC is helping.

"We are very excited to be a part of the manufacturing community in Upstate South Carolina," said David Titone, vice president of Nordson ICS. "We are honored to have worked with the State of South Carolina, Lawrence County and the City of Clinton on our new facility. We would like to thank them for their support and look forward to continuing to work with them in the years ahead."

"We are very pleased to welcome Nordson Corporation to Clinton, marking the beginning of a great relationship," said Susan Heath, senior regional director of ReadySC, in a news release. "ReadySC and Piedmont Technical College are ready to assist Nordson with its recruiting and training needs."

"We are also looking forward to building relationships in Lawrence County," said Titone. "We have a long history of supporting the communities where we live and work through our Nordson Impact giving program, and as we grow, we are proud to positively impact more people each year through volunteerism, donations, scholarships and more."

"We are very excited that Nordson has chosen Lawrence County as our headquarters home," said Lawrence County Council Chairman Brown Patterson. "Lawrence County is a great place to do business, and we look forward to a long and successful relationship with our newest corporate citizen."

"The City of Clinton welcomes Nordson to Clinton," added Clinton Mayor Randy Randall. "We are very pleased with Nordson's contribution to the city and wish them every success with their new facility."
