Dow Launches DOWSIL CC-8000 Series UV and Dual Moisture Cure Conformal Coatings

Dow has launched the DOWSIL CC-8000 Series UV and Dual Moisture Cure Conformal Coatings, a series of solvent-free silicone coatings that provide strong protection for electronic components in renewable energy applications as well as electric motors, power tools and appliances, and at an extremely fast rate.

The DOWSIL CC-8000 Series UV and Dual Moisture Cure Conformal Coatings offer UV/LED on-demand cure with secondary cure for shadowed areas. Curing in seconds using broad-spectrum UV or LED light enables high production throughput and reduces energy costs compared to thermal cure materials, and saves time compared to room temperature cure materials.

These one-component, translucent conformal coatings can be produced without the addition of solvents, creating a better working environment for workers in the electronics manufacturing industry, and require a smaller equipment footprint, helping to reduce operating costs. They are also stable in harsh conditions, provide excellent protection in high humidity environments, prevent contamination, and have excellent flame retardancy and stress relief.
