Neutrogena's new collagen library features patented micro-peptide technology

ECHEMI 2024-08-16

Kenvue has launched Neutrogena's collagen library featuring Kenvue's patented micro-peptide technology.

The launch pushes Neutrogena into the anti-aging category and is expected to meet the needs of Generation Z who are looking for ways to prevent skin aging. According to Mintel Facial Skincare Research 2023, 58% of Gen Z start to worry about aging at age 23.

The company said the micro-peptide technology is two times smaller than the leading anti-aging peptide and can penetrate 10 layers below the skin's surface. Developed by dermatologists, the technology targets five markers that are critical to maintaining the skin's firm support matrix: elastin, procollagen, hyaluronic acid, fibronectin and decorin.

Adam Ricciardone, Global Head of R&D for Skin Health and Beauty at Kenvue, said:“Collagen Bank is a cutting-edge solution for a generation of consumers who want to take a preventative approach to skincare. We know that Millennials and Gen Z are trying many different skincare regimens. Our scientifically validated formula addresses their concerns while prioritizing long-term skin health.”

Both products in the collection are suitable for all skin types and tones and offer their own benefits. Neutrogena Collagen Bank Moisturizer contains Bakuchiol, a gentle, plant-based alternative to retinol, to help defend against collagen-damaging aggressors and fight visible signs of early skin aging. Neutrogena Collagen Bank Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Moisturizer protects against the number one collagen-depleting aggressor – the sun. Together, these two products are clinically proven to mitigate the five early signs of collagen loss, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and promote a plumper-looking skin.
