Total Energy to supply 200,000 tonnes/year of LNG to HD Hyundai Chemical by 2033

ECHEMI 2024-09-26

Total Energy has announced the signing of a framework agreement (HoA) with HD Hyundai Chemical to supply it with 200,000 tonnes of LNG per year for seven years from 2027.

With prices linked to Brent and Henry Hub indices, Total Energy solidifies its long-term position in South Korea, the world’s third largest importer of LNG. In Asia, LNG is a true transitional energy source that mitigates the intermittency of renewable energy and reduces emissions when replacing coal-fired power generation.

Gregory Joffroy, Senior Vice President of LNG at TotalEnergies, said: “We are pleased to have reached an agreement with HD Hyundai Chemical to supply natural gas to one of its industrial sites. This agreement allows us to continue to secure long-term sales in Asia and reduce our dependence on spot market natural gas prices.”
