China Energy Group Ningxia Coal Industry selects LyondellBasell Hostalen ACP technology to produce high-density polyethylene
LyondellBasell, the world's largest polyolefin technology licensor, announced that China Energy Group Ningxia Coal Industry has selected its Hostalen Advanced Cascade Process (Hostalen ACP) technology for a 300,000 ton per year high-density polyethylene plant to be built in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China.
"The selection of our technology by China Energy Group Ningxia Coal once again demonstrates LyondellBasell's credibility in the polyethylene market. In addition, with this license, Hostalen ACP's global nameplate capacity will exceed 13 million tons per year, which is a testament to the success of this leading technology," said Patrik Schneider, Senior Director of Global Licensing and Services at LyondellBasell.
"The selection of Hostalen ACP low-pressure slurry process technology was critical for us because in the current market environment, production capacity is key to market differentiation. The Hostalen ACP process technology and the associated Ziegler catalyst chemistry enable us to best achieve this demanding goal," said a senior project manager of China Energy Group Ningxia Coal Industry.
The Hostalen ACP process technology produces high-performance, multimodal HDPE resins with industry-leading stiffness/toughness balance, impact resistance, high stress cracking and processing advantages for pressure pipe, film, blow molding and caps and closures applications.
The new plant will produce a full range of multimodal HDPE products using Avant Z501 and Avant Z509-1 catalysts.
