Grace Announces Startup of Nayara Energy’s 450,000 tonnes/year Polypropylene Plant

WR Grace & Co. (Grace), the world’s leading independent supplier of polypropylene (PP) process technology and polyolefin catalyst technology, announces that Nayara Energy Limited has successfully started up its new 450 kilotonnes/year (KTA) UNIPOL PP process technology plant in Vadinar, Gujarat, India.

Nayara Energy uses Grace’s non-phthalate CONSISTA catalyst and UNIPOL PP process technology to produce a full range of PP grades for pharmaceutical, healthcare and industry applications. Nayara also leverages Grace’s UNIPOL UNIPPAC process control software to run the plant at optimal performance.

Sergey Denisov, Chief Development Officer of Nayara Energy, said, "We are delighted to partner with Grace to build our first PP unit, which is a major milestone in the company's growth story. Our goal is to produce the highest quality non-phthalate based homopolymer, random copolymer and impact copolymer polypropylene resins for domestic and international markets."
