LG Chem and Pharmaceutical Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement
Recently, LG Chem and Nanjing Yaojieankang Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Yaojieankang) signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the new candidate drug LC510255 for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.
LC510255 is a new type of oral drug that can regulate the immune function of allergic diseases and promote the production of protein S1P1 (sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor-1). Up to now, LG Chem has passed preclinical trials and phase I clinical trials. According to the agreement, Yaojie Ankang will obtain the exclusive development and commercialization authorization of LC510255 in the Chinese market. The development and commercialization rights of other countries and regions in the world except the Chinese market belong to LG Chem.
Yaojie Ankang Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was established in 2016. Its management team has senior work experience in multinational pharmaceutical companies. It is a biotechnology company dedicated to the development of inflammatory diseases and new anti-cancer drugs. Seeing the global competitiveness of the non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) treatment drug developed by Jie'ankang, LG Chem and Jie'ankang signed an agreement to introduce the candidate drug last year.
Sun Zhixiong, General Manager of LG Chem’s Life Sciences Division, said: “Through the successful development of new drugs, we will do our best to provide new treatment opportunities for patients with autoimmune diseases. At the same time, we will expand the new drug R&D pipeline and global partnerships as the basis for development , LG Chem will further accelerate its lead in the global market."
