Analysis: Today, the spot price of pure benzene surged significantly. Affected by the combined factors of the Middle East conflict, disruptions to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, and attacks on Iranian oil storage facilities, oil prices are expected to remain volatile at high levels. Consequently, pure benzene prices have also risen strongly, following the upward trend in oil prices. Sinopec has raised its listed price by 2,700 CNY/ton, bringing the new price to 11,000 CNY/ton. Local refineries in Shandong have increased their prices today by roughly 1,700 to 3,400 CNY/ton, with factory prices generally hovering around 12,000 CNY/ton. International oil prices and prices of petrochemical products continue to climb; meanwhile, some refineries in Shandong have suspended sales of petroleum benzene. It is anticipated that the pure benzene market will remain strong in the short term, with actual transactions negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
