LVMH and Integrated Biosciences Aim to Accelerate the Development of Bioactives for Skin Care
LVMH Recherche has signed a multi-year strategic research partnership with California-based biotech company Integrated Biosciences to discover novel chemical entities that target aging at the molecular level.
The LVMH Beauty R&D division aims to leverage Integrated Biosciences’ synthetic biology and artificial intelligence (AI) platforms to create innovative skin youthfulness and beauty products.
Founded by former researchers from MIT, Harvard and UC Santa Barbara, Integrated Biosciences relies on its proprietary technology to virtually screen hundreds of thousands of molecules that could potentially play a role in modulating age-related biological phenotypes.
“Our collaboration with Integrated Biosciences perfectly embodies our vision to push the frontiers of scientific discovery and drive transformative innovation in beauty,” said Bruno Bavouzet, President of LVMH Recherche. “This is a unique opportunity to evaluate thousands of potential bioactives simultaneously, revolutionizing the speed of our research to benefit all our brands, including our flagship – Maison Parfums Christian Dior. By combining our skin research expertise with their AI and aging research, we are taking a decisive step forward in understanding and addressing age-related cellular pathways at the molecular level,” added Bavouzet.
Under the terms of the agreement, Integrated Biosciences is eligible to receive payments based on the achievement of near-term discovery, development and commercial milestones. Financial terms of the collaboration have not been disclosed.
