Avient Expands Nymax REC Recycled Nylon Formulation Production to Istanbul
Avient Corporation, an innovator in materials solutions, has announced that production of its Nymax REC recycled nylon formulations will expand to Istanbul, Turkey. This will make these sustainable, REACH-compliant solutions more accessible to customers in the Middle Eastern country.
These PA6-based Nymax REC formulations contain 20% to 100% recycled content from registered sources approved under the EU Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation, such as recycled textiles. They offer comparable performance to virgin nylon grades, including high strength, durability, impact resistance, and weatherability. These formulations can be combined with a variety of reinforcements, modifiers, and fillers to enhance performance requirements and can be customized to provide chemical resistance and flame retardancy.
“Expanding production of these grades to Istanbul, using locally sourced recycled materials, means we can provide REACH-compliant solutions to Turkey and the Middle East, while helping to reduce the environmental impact of transporting these materials,” said Matt Mitchell, global marketing director for Avient Specialty Engineered Materials. “This demonstrates our increased commitment to providing sustainable solutions and supporting our customers in achieving their sustainability goals.”
