Greenchemicals Acquires Polichem Srl

ECHEMI 2025-01-14

Greenchemicals officially welcomes Polichem Srl to its family, marking an important milestone on its path to innovation and sustainability.

Founded in 1989 by Dr. Franco Lo Giudice, Polichem has been developing advanced additives for engineered thermoplastic polymers. Its portfolio includes nucleating and clarifiers, mold release agents, impact modifiers, PA chain extenders, PET IV reinforcements, dispersing molecules and high-performance stabilizers. Dr. Lo Giudice is a chemist with in-depth knowledge of polyamides and polyesters, whose impressive track record is now part of Greenchemicals.

This merger is more than just a business move, it combines innovation and experience. Polichem's production site in Gallasco, near Milan, analytical facilities and application laboratories are now part of Greenchemicals, complementing its headquarters in Desio.

In addition to flame retardants and additives with reduced environmental impact, Greenchmicals is expanding its product range with solutions designed to improve the quality of mechanically recycled polymers.

"We consider this acquisition highly strategic and represents a crucial synergy that strengthens our position in the international plastic additives formulator space. We will expand our tailor-made product offering for styrenics, polyolefins and engineering thermoplastic polymers with a stronger focus on the sustainability of plastics. All Polichem products can be considered sustainable as they allow lower processing temperatures and higher productivity. The overall performance is improved while a higher percentage of recycled products can be used," said Dr. Lorenzi, founder and CEO of Greenchemicals.
