Pittsburgh Paints Appoints New CEO Amid Major Business Shift in North America
Pittsburgh Paints Company (PPC) has announced the appointment of Brian Carson as its new CEO, marking a significant leadership change following the acquisition of PPG's North American architectural coatings business by American Industrial Partners (AIP). This acquisition, finalized on December 2, 2023, transformed PPG's operations into PPC, aimed at enhancing service to both commercial and residential customers.
PPC is now one of the top three manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada, producing a range of products including interior and exterior paints, stains, adhesives, and sealants. With a legacy dating back to 1897, the company is well-positioned to continue its tradition of innovation and excellence in the coatings industry.
Brian Carson brings over 30 years of experience in the building products sector, having previously served as the President and CEO of AHF Products, where he helped the company grow into a leading manufacturer of hard surface flooring. His extensive relationships with major retailers and contractors will be crucial as PPC aims to strengthen its market presence.
Rick Hoffman, a partner at AIP, expressed confidence in Carson's leadership abilities, highlighting his track record in repositioning manufacturers to enhance product vitality and profitability. Carson stated, "Pittsburgh Paints Company has a storied history and a talented team. Our strategy will prioritize strong partnerships and innovative products to drive long-term growth."
In addition to Carson, PPC has recently appointed Joe Durham as CFO and Brian Padden as Retail President. Padden, who has 30 years of experience with Sherwin-Williams, will leverage his expertise to foster customer-centric strategies across the organization.
With this new leadership team in place, Pittsburgh Paints Company is poised to redefine its brand and enhance its commitment to quality and service in the rapidly evolving coatings market.
