BASF Coatings and NIO to Collaborate on Automotive Coatings

BASF Coatings, a leading global supplier of innovative coatings solutions, and NIO, a pioneer in the smart electric vehicle market, announced the signing of a letter of intent to establish a strategic partnership and strengthen cooperation in the field of automotive coatings. The collaboration marks an important step towards a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship between the two companies, with a focus on exterior coatings for NIO electric vehicles.

The agreement lays the framework for ongoing negotiations between the two companies and facilitates annual strategic dialogues. Both parties are committed to cultivating a collaboration platform covering market and customer development, project management and information exchange.

As part of the strategic collaboration, BASF's Coatings division plans to provide NIO with a wide range of products that meet specific technical requirements and provide value-added services including color design, color development, digital solutions, sustainability programs, workshops and industry-leading technical support.
