BASF Drives Change in Automotive Repair with Continued Support for Young Talent
BASF's Coatings Division is committed to transforming the automotive repair industry by supporting young automotive painters globally. With its premium automotive repair paint brand, Glasurit® Parrot, BASF continues to be the exclusive global industry partner for the World Skills Competition in automotive painting.
Chris Titmarsh, BASF's Senior Vice President and Head of Global Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions, stated, “We are proud to support young talents participating in the World Skills Competition, helping them develop their skills and attract new talent to the exciting automotive repair sector.” This global partnership fosters a collaborative mindset across society, aiming for a sustainable future and raising standards for training youth in the industry.
Following the successful launch at the 2024 Lyon World Skills Competition, BASF will provide its advanced Glasurit® Parrot 100 Series water-based automotive repair paints to support this year's event. This leading water-based system has demonstrated outstanding performance in terms of process time, material consumption, and sustainability based on real data. Participants will also learn to integrate the Refinity® Smart Cloud management system into their daily routines, an exclusive digital platform offering color, training, and business solutions.
The world’s largest skills competition, the 2026 Shanghai World Skills Competition, will take place from September 22 to 27, 2026, in Shanghai, China. David Hoey, CEO of the World Skills Organization, remarked, “Members of the World Skills Organization are nurturing the ambitions and talents of skilled individuals each day to tackle today's most pressing issues.
