Arkema Receives ISCC PLUS Certification for Mass Balance of UV-LED-EB Resin Production
Specialty materials leader Arkema has received ISCC PLUS certification for its specialty (meth)acrylate oligomer and monomer production sites in Chatham, Virginia and West Chester, Pennsylvania. As a result, Arkema is now able to offer bio-attributed energy-curing solutions through its UV-LED-EB resin production facilities around the world.
The network includes the recently certified US site as well as sites in Nansha, China and Villers-Saint-Paul, France. Sartomer® solutions are widely used in high-performance coatings, adhesives, inks, electronics, green travel, comfortable living, 3D printing and other fields.
“ISCC PLUS certification is an important certification for our industry, and now we can offer our bio-specific UV-LED-EB oligomers and monomers to customers around the world. This certification also expands our network of certified facilities to support a variety of industries and technologies, helping companies across the value chain achieve their goals of reducing their carbon footprint,” said Stephanie Montag, President of Sartomer Americas.
Sartomer’s biobased solutions portfolio helps reduce the carbon footprint of products and enhances its mature biobased product portfolio, including oligomers and monomers with up to 85% biobased content. Some products also receive the USDA Certified Biobased Product label through the USDA BioPreferred Program.
The ISCC PLUS certified products produced at Arkema’s production sites further enhance the certification of Arkema’s coating solutions worldwide. Arkema’s strategy is to gradually launch a full range of bio-based specialty resins and additives, including high solids, waterborne, UV-LED-EB and polyester powder materials.
